People in the office

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere.

It writes emails, creates presentations, summarizes meetings, analyzes data, answers questions, and automates tasks that once took hours to complete. You can even have a great conversation with AI.

At Genistar, we recognized the potential early. We were among the early adopters of AI within our business in 2024, and we continue to invest heavily in technology that helps our people become more productive and efficient.

But as we move through 2026, our focus is not only on  building more technology.

Our primary focus is on building more leaders.

Why?

Because AI will never lead your organization.

Technology can process information. It can identify patterns. It can improve systems. It can even help us make better decisions.

But it cannot inspire people.

It cannot build trust or relationships.

It cannot create culture.

It cannot develop character.

It cannot cast a compelling vision for the future.

And it certainly cannot replace the power of a leader who genuinely believes in people and helps them become more than they thought possible.

For years, many organizations gained a competitive advantage through access to information. The people who knew the most often had the greatest influence.

Today, information is available instantly to anyone.

Tomorrow, AI will make information even more accessible.

As knowledge becomes increasingly commoditized, leadership becomes increasingly valuable.

The future will not belong to the companies with the most information.

The future will belong to the companies with the best leaders.

Great leaders bring something to the table that technology never will.

They bring vision when others see obstacles.

They bring courage when uncertainty arises.

They bring wisdom when difficult decisions need to be made.

They bring emotional intelligence when people are struggling.

And they bring belief when others doubt what is possible.

The more technology advances, the more important these uniquely human qualities become.

This is why I believe many organizations are asking the wrong question.

Instead of asking, "How much of our business can AI replace?"

They should be asking, "How can AI help our people become even better leaders?"

Technology should never be viewed as a replacement for leadership.

It should be viewed as a tool that frees leaders to spend more time doing what only leaders can do.

Building relationships.

Developing people.

Creating culture.

Solving problems.

Communicating vision.

Growing future leaders.

The organizations that thrive over the next decade will not be those that choose between technology and leadership.

They will be those that successfully combine both.

AI can make us more efficient.

Leadership makes us more effective.

AI can help us do more.

Leadership helps us become more.

As we look toward the future of Genistar, our commitment is clear. We will continue embracing technology and innovation wherever it helps us serve people better. But we will never lose sight of the fact that people still follow people.

People do not follow software.

People do not follow algorithms.

People do not follow technology.

They follow vision.

They follow character.

They follow leadership.

And that is why, in an age increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence, leadership development remains one of the most important investments any organization can make.

"AI may change how we work, but leadership will always determine how far we go." — Jeff Lestz
